From wax to figurine…
We have created a series of historically accurate sculptures that show how the RNLI lifeboat crews lifesaving equipment has evolved over the years, from the very first lifejackets brought into service in 1854 to the modern one piece drysuits and technically advanced lifejackets worn by today’s crews.
Join us on a journey through RNLI history with a collection of exquisitely detailed unique lifeboat crew collectable figurines.
The process begins with detailed photography of the crew for modern era models and archive photography for the historic lifeboat crew models. From the photography accurate sketches are then made to start the modelling process. Once these sketches have been finalised a prototype wax model is sculpted and refined, this wax model is then used as a basis for the silicon mould at the final stage before being moulded in Pewter.
