From wax to figurine part II…

See some more shots of the modelling and sculpting process for Lifeboat Collectables RNLI model pewter figures.

The process begins with detailed photography of the crew for modern era models and archive photography for the historic lifeboat crew models. From the photography accurate sketches are then made to start the modelling process. Once these sketches have been finalised a prototype wax model is sculpted and refined, this wax model is then used as a basis for the silicon mould at the final stage before being moulded in Pewter.
